Who we are
This portal is operated by EchoForge Software (Pty) Ltd, trading as Echo Software (“we”, “us”), a company registered in South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the client portal at client.echosoftware.co.za and how we handle it under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Information we collect
- Account details you use to sign in: your email address, and your name and phone number if you add them to your profile.
- Content you submit: support requests and messages you send us through the portal.
- Records tied to your account: your projects, service status, invoices and documents.
- Technical data needed to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure (session cookies and basic request logs).
How we use it
We use your information to give you access to your account, show you your projects, invoices and documents, respond to your support requests, and keep the portal secure. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate usage; it is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies or track you across other sites, so no separate cookie consent is required.
Who can see your data
Access is restricted so that you see only your own company’s data. Echo Software staff can access client data to operate and support the service. We use Supabase as our database and authentication provider and Vercel as our hosting provider; both process data on our behalf under their own security controls.
Your rights under POPIA
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Retention and security
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations. Data is encrypted in transit, access is controlled by row-level security, and passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
